Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB)
Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) owes its origin to a "Social Contract" between the Government of Odisha and the Odisha Jesuit Society in 1987. It is acknowledged internationally as a top ranked, professional world class business school which provides quality management programmes and develops futuristic managers with strong ethics and values. XIMB not only imparts management education but also implements socio-economic development projects in collaboration with international agencies and the Government. The Institute creates opportunities for the growth and development of the local entrepreneurs, maximises management research and brings about the overall industrial development of India through various innovative consulting projects. The Board of Governors, consisting of representatives of the Jesuit Society, Government of India, Government of Odisha, and eminent industrialists and educationists, provides the over all direction as a guiding light.
XIMB has taken the initiatives to setup a University called Xavier University. The necessary Act has been passed by the Odisha Legislative Assembly and the University has come into operation after the Government notification from July 6, 2013. By setting up of University, graduate and post-graduate degree programmes i.e MA, M.Sc & MBA, Ph. D etc., can be offered and this will be a mile stone in offering quality higher education in the history of Odisha.
XIMB has its roots embedded into tradition, through the inculcation of a value system that nurtures its students into hardcore professionals and most importantly, responsible citizens. With the entire campus brimming with students who hail from diverse parts of the country, the Student Exchange Programs of XIMB have taken the institute to the International Arena; ensuring the provision of quality education and exposing the students to an amalgam of cultures, learning environments and diverse curriculums that hone the managerial and people-oriented skills of the students.
We aim to ensure that education and training systems deliver the knowledge and skills needed in an increasingly globalized labour market. Along with the EU and other participating countries our goal is to help in providing the framework for such learning mobility which will be helpful for the non-industrialised countries in noth-south mobility of students. There is an increasing number of very diverse exchange opportunities with varying goals and objectives.
