KHLeuven excels in different domains, among others, by the quality and the flexibility of our education programme. KHLeuven has received several quality labels such as:  the ECTS label (2011-2014), the label from the European Social Fund, and a quality feature Internationalisation for a degree programme in Business Studies. One of KHLeuven's main asset is its profession-oriented approach equipping their students with knowledge, skills, professional attitudes and work ethics that are utterly important in their professional career later on. As such, KHLeuven does not aim to just educate its students, but also aims at teaching social values and social skills for cultivating self-conscious, democratic and committed global citizens.Leuven University College (KHLeuven, Belgium) offers bachelor degree programmes (EQF 6) with a profession-oriented approach, advanced bachelor's programmes, postgraduate certificates and other continuing studies. The University College Leuven has 8000 students and consists of four departments: Teacher Training, Business Administration and Management, Health and Technology, and the School of Social Work, all together offering 13 bachelor programmes, and 7 advanced bachelor programmes among which an English programme for Business Management and an Advanced bachelor programme in International Cooperation North South. Each year 250 students participate in international mobility programs with 17% of our alumni having had a long-term international experience of more than 3 months. There currently exist  an increasing participation of students in mobility programmes outside Europe (> 25% of total).

Recently, the KHLeuven has founded ICoNS, a learning and knowledge network for International Cooperation North South, which aims at promoting global citizenship by critically researching and facilitating North South mobility of young people. ICoNS organizes the advanced bachelor International Cooperation North South provided by the KHLeuven. Based on its long-terms experience with sending and accompanying students to the South, ICoNS provides training opportunities for the programme’s staff as well as doing scientific, innovative research on young people’s mobility to the South (with non-industrialised countries). Hereby, ICoNS takes an integral approach to North-South mobility by focusing on all its fundamental aspects such as: elaborating a coherent vision on learning mobility with non-industrialized countries of young people with sending organisations in the North; validation of gained ‘international competences’ for the labour market; developing a qualitative process of preparation and follow-up of students during and after their stay in the South as well as establishing sustainable partnerships with South partners. Currently, ICoNS conducts research into the different typologies of preparation processes for students going to the South and is applying funds for research on sustainable partnerships with South partners.

Leuven University´s expertise center ICoNS acts as project coordinator for LEMONOC and is responsible for sound financial and project management.
